Monita De
Varge was a child prodigy, being able to play almost
anything on a keyboard & play it by ear. Writing
music compositions from childhood onwards, Monita learnt
from classicly trained teachers during her schooling
years. After leaving school Monita wrote modern ambient
classical pieces as a hobby for ten years, then she
eventually grew out of piano compositions and started
to experiment with electronic production.
Monita experimented with writing music
for stage performances, special events and performance
artists. After working on her own various projects,
and releasing a few Ambient and New-Age tracks in 2003/04/05
Monita started her own indie record Label “Sonic
Liberty” & released her Debut Album “The
Element of Sound” in early 2008. Her Album is
in rotation at community radio stations within Australia
and on worldwide Internet Radio stations online and
the CD is Available from Amazon, Cd Baby, Her official
website & Independent record stores online & across
Sydney Australia.
With an understanding of the link between
sound and emotion, Monita writes pushing melodies and
makes the music speak for itself. With a scattered
phrase or two in the music to enhance the experience.
Monita has definitely gone out of the square with her
quest to produce an electronic musical orchestra with
futuristic classical pieces which paint pictures in
your imagination, from exquisite ambience to heightened
intensity. Touching on the Psy dimension, her music
can be mesmerising, captivating, spacey and spooky
at times, setting a theme for some sci-fi movies.
"It doesn’t matter to me about what genre
a particular sound supposed to be used for,
I experiment with any sound as long as it mixes well
with the rest of the arrangement and make it a composition
of my own with original sounding music branching from
my own style. The idea is to give music a story, why
use words when sound can talk to you, the trick is
to be creative and to get the message across, regardless
of how strange the message is."
"I experiment with different sub-genres within
electronica, and each song composition is a journey
defined by emotional complexity. My intention is to
compose with a picture of a ’Scene’ or
'Visual Journey' in mind. The journey is then left
in the mind of the beholder of each person listening".
